  • Outdoor Explorers Youth Program With the Woodsy Dude
    WOODSY DUDE Outdoor Explorers Youth Program

    7/24 at 4:00 pm | Ages 5-9 | North Lawn
    Registration Required (sign up below)

    Students will build a primitive survival shelter, learn how to signal for rescue, create trail markers, and learn how to catch food! We will also be looking at wild resources such as stone tools and bones. Each student will receive a small kit with survival items to use throughout the program! It’s sure to be a great time with Woodsy Dude, Joshua Stuck!

    Looking to meet other caregivers in the area? Join us for a Lunch N’ Play to socialize, lunch together, and play! Bring your own packed lunch and we’ll provide the toys! Enjoy sharing a mealtime with new families!

    Summer Book Club

    Bookmarks meets on the third Thursday of the month at 5:30 pm, except for December (no meeting). Hosted at Dauntless Soul Brew Co. (130 E Main Street, Omro). Pick up a physical copy of the book at the Omro Public Library or find the book on Libby or Hoopla! All are welcome to join!

    Gather at the Garden Storytime

    Ages 3-10 | Casa Esther Garden, 320 N Webster Ave
    Tuesdays, July 15 through August 19 at 10:00 am*

    In this outdoor storytime program we feature a book reading, craft, & garden activity. Gather at the Garden encourages all ages to learn about where their food comes from! Bring an outdoor blanket or chair to sit on if you'd like. Meeting 7/15, 7/22, 7/29, 8/5, 8/12, and 8/19.

    *PLEASE NOTE: All Gather at the Garden Storytimes start at 10:00am. Some dates on our children's calendar incorrectly had the time as 4:30pm.

  • Color Our World Summer Reading Program!
    Color Our World Summer Reading Program

    Get ready to Color Our World at this year's Summer Reading Program! Read for great prizes (& fun!) starting on June 9th. 

    Registration is open using the web-based system Reader Zone for tracking your reading during this program. You can use the Reader Zone mobile app (it's fun and EASY!), or go to our Reader Zone homepage, to get started. This year the program is set up for Adults (18+), Teens (ages 13-17), Kids (ages 6-12), & Kids (ages 0-5). Kids ages 0-12 will earn a prize at 200, 400, and 600 minutes (program completion)! Upon completion kids and teens will receive a book prize to keep.

    Children's Incentive Prizes

    • 200 minutes: rubber duck (babies), mini watercolor set & play-doh (children)
    • 400 minutes: egg shaker & bubbles (babies), Dauntless Soul Brew Kid's Coupon, mini fish erasers, & vinyl art sticker (children)
    • 600 minutes: certificate of completion & book to take home (babies & children)

  • Library Experience Passes
    Experience Passes

    Experience passes are a new item available for checkout at the Carter Memorial Library. We have passes that are available for:

    • Bookworm Gardens | family admission, up to two adults and unlimited children under 18 in the immediate household
    • Building For Kids Children’s Museum | family admission, up to two adults and unlimited children under 18 in the immediate household
    • Wisconsin Historical Society Sites | family admission, up to two adults and unlimited children under 18 in the immediate household
    • State Park Day Passes | day pass for admission of one car
    • Oshkosh Public Museum | family admission, up to two adults and unlimited children under 18 in the immediate household

    The passes (except for State Park Day Passes) check out for 7 days, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
